The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the IES/ESE 2027 Notification, marking the beginning of the recruitment cycle for one of India’s most prestigious engineering services examinations. Aspiring engineers looking to serve in top government departments should act immediately — the application window is limited.

The Indian Engineering Services (IES) / Engineering Services Examination (ESE) is a national-level competitive exam conducted by UPSC to recruit engineers for departments under the Government of India, including defence, railways, telecom, power, and public works.

Before filling the application form, verify your eligibility for IES/ESE 2027. Only candidates who meet the educational qualification and age criteria prescribed by UPSC should proceed.

IES/ESE 2027 Selection Process

There are three different stages of the IES 2027 Selection. Candidates need to clear each stage one by one.

Eligible candidates can fill the online application form and appear for IES/ESE 2027 Prelim Exam which held on 18th July 2027.
After clearing the IES/ESE 2027 Prelims exam, a candidate should appear for IES/ESE 2027 Main Exam, that will be scheduled in 10th October 2027
Then based on the score obtained in the Main Exam will be considered and candidates should get the call for Personality Test including Interview, medical tests.

IES/ESE 2027 Exam Dates

IES 2027 Registration starts from 26th September 2026 The last date to fill registration will be 16th October 2026. for more details please follow the below table:

IES/ESE 2027 Salary

If you clear both the exams and personality test, you will appoint as IES Officer in different disciplines. There you will get basic pay of Rs. 15,600 along with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400 with added incentives like DA, HRA, etc.

The final IES 2027 Salary will be Rs. 67,700/-
